May 2013 – new signage and another crash

On May 8th this year, a crew from the Dept. of Transportation installed new signage at the 11foot8 bridge to improve the visibility of the structure (the crash beam). The bad news was that 2 hours after they were done, a truck hit the bridge. The good news is that the rate of crashes over the last 8 months was only half the rate from before. So it does look like the new signage is improving the safety of this low-clearance bridge.
